Blog 3 My New Learnings

By now you may have gathered that pink is my favorite color. I hope it is legible.
I am extremely excited to Blog another day! What an interesting Friday we had at school. I luv this profession because there is never a dull moment and even if you think you have a daily agenda, you are never able to actually adhere to it which makes for each day more interesting than the last! ha!
This job's a hoot and a half, I luv it and it so rocks that I actually get paid for it!
Back to our awesome EME Class, I was very excited to learn movie and story teller.
I came to work the Monday after Saturday school and told everyone I thought was Techno-Savy, I had made a movie on movie maker!! They all looked at me like your enthusiasm is adorable Darla, but what else ya got? Hmmm interesting, still I was very proud!
I have been researching what I would like to teach for this project and I have 2 very interesting but very different ideas. The first one was to Teach about United Streaming because I am learning it and I think the short clip videos are extremely helpful tools in the classroom. I have also come across the iTV on the Internet. Now that has struck my interest and curiosity but I would so want to bring one in and model it for our class and I don't think I will be able to do that. I will continue to research the two and will be ready on Saturday to Teach Away. FYI~ I teach wonderfully in front of 5-10 year olds. Place me in front of a room full of adults and you will see where I have earned my nickname "The Flamming Lobes!" My ears lobes become extremely red and I become extremely nervous ie: Back To School Night or Open House!
So I am working on my Public Speaking skills as well.
As for right now the teaching technologies I have worked with in the classroom are IGPRO as a grade book, starfall.com, Kidspiration, and ClassXP for attendance.
I know this is going to sound so yesterday but I was hoping to add Power Point and now I have learned to Blog so check that one off the list. I'm sure there is so much more I want to learn I just don't know what it is yet!
I have found that by integrating technology in my classroom the children are far more engaged and motivated to learn, stay on task, and participate with enthusiasm! Most of the younger ones do not even realize they are learning because it is tons of fun!
